We seek companies that have an active plan to communicate with the public. This does not simply mean press releases; it means a real visibility plan that makes sense and can be executed by a capable team of professionals.

Successful public companies must not only run their businesses well, but they must communicate well with the owners of the company, their shareholders, potential investors, the brokerage community, and the balance of the public at large.

Especially in the small and micro-cap sector, a number of public companies report improving fundamentals but unfortunately have not developed a public market with any depth. Oftentimes, their good news has no follow-through in trading volume or appreciation of their share price. A small amount of selling following this good news often leads to a lower stock price, and in turn, the good news itself is viewed with skepticism as the shares trade lower. This may result in an inability to continue with good fundamentals as the company does not get access to future rounds of capital, or it accesses capital at extremely dilutive prices.
